FIFA World XI: Lucio, Maicon and Sneijder are all winners

ZURICH – Alongside the FIFA 2010 Ballon d’Or prize giving, with the main award going to Lionel Messi, the FIFA FIFPro World XI were awarded to the best players of the year for each position, as voted by members of the FIFPro, the International Federation of professional footballers. Lucio, Maicon and Wesley Sneijder were the three Nerazzurri who made it into the winning formation. The two Brazilian defenders won their position alongside Gerard Piqué and Carles Puyol, whilst the Dutchman was part of the best midfield of 2010 together with Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta. The strikers to win the award were David Villa, Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, while Iker Casillas was voted the best goalkeeper of 2010.
